Lightstar Teams Volunteer at Aldermere Farm and Erickson Fields: Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s agricultural preserves in Rockport, helping to feed the Midcoast community.

At Lightstar, we understand the power of community and the impact that collective effort can have. Our teams recently had the privilege of spending a productive session at the farm, where we rolled up our sleeves and got to work on a variety of essential tasks.

From painting and barn clean-up to seasonal high-tunnel maintenance, crop processing, and wood stacking, we tackled each project with enthusiasm and purpose. By dividing our resources effectively, we not only supported the farm's upkeep but also enabled the hardworking staff to concentrate on their daily operations amidst a busy season.

About the land…

Conserved Land Helps Feed a Community

“The Food Council is about bringing all of these affiliated organizations together to create a sustainable local food system, and to promote greater efficiency and effectiveness in limiting waste and getting food to those who need it.”

-Joelle Albury, Outreach and Office Manager at Aldermere Farm and Erickson Fields

Our efforts are more than just tasks completed; they represent a commitment to supporting local farms that play a crucial role in addressing food insecurity. We believe that by coming together, we can make a significant difference. We love farms of all sizes and recognize their importance in feeding our communities.

Community involvement is an integral part of Lightstar's culture, and we are always looking for ways to give back. Our team members are encouraged to participate in volunteer opportunities that align with our values and mission. Through these efforts, we not only make a positive impact on the community but also foster teamwork and personal growth within our organization.

In addition to supporting local farms, Lightstar also partners with various non-profit organizations focused on environmental conservation, education, and social justice. We believe in utilizing our resources and skills to create a better world for future generations.
